VA National Standards of Practice for RA's

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting public comment on updating the registered radiologist assistant standard of practice.

The proposed rules change to the Veterans Affairs National Standards of Practice for registered radiologist assistants working at Veterans Affairs facilities would require them to practice in accordance with the ASRT Practice Standards for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy radiography standards.

The ASRT is urging the Department of Veterans Affairs to require radiologist assistants to practice in accordance with the ASRT Practice Standards for radiologist assistants. By aligning its standards with the proper ASRT Practice Standards, the Department of Veterans Affairs would be taking a crucial step in protecting patients.

Public comments must be received by Sept. 9, 2024. Use the Advocacy Action Center to submit your comment.
